Miami CB picks up an LSU offer

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern is always loaded with major college talent and the 2010 class looks to be as good of a college crop as you will find in the country. With several long offer lists already on the Northwestern roster, one player that has flown relatively low on the radar is cornerback Khalid Marshall. That may soon change as Marshall's first BCS offer is in.
"I've got two offers," Marshall said. "I have LSU and FIU. My first offer was from FIU. I got that one during the season. Then LSU came a week ago. It came in the mail."

While the offer caught Marshall off guard, he was thrilled to see the news.
"It was a surprise to me," he said. "I was excited. I called my family up and told them and then I told my head coach. I don't really know too much about them but I'm going to visit."
Though the 2008 season was a stray from the norm, traditionally LSU has exactly what Marshall is looking for in a program.
"I like a defensive school," he said. "I like a fast defense and DBs that play a lot of man."
Marshall is also hearing significantly from Florida State and South Florida and has had a chance to visit FIU this spring. He hopes to visit LSU as well in either the spring or the summer.
