Miami CB enjoys Gainesville

Miami (Fla.) Pace cornerback Demarcus Vandyke took an unofficial visit to Florida during the weekend and left with a favorite.
"The visit to Florida was great," he said. "I got to watch practice and meet the coaches."

The visit moved the Gators into the driver's seat for the 6-foot-1, 165-pound speedster, but he has not committed yet. Florida plans to evaluate him during the May evaluation period and make a decision on a scholarship offer at that time.
"If they offer me a scholarship, I will commit," Vandyke said.
Vandyke plans to make a return trip to Gainesville on April 22 for the Florida spring game.
Rivals.com 2006 top 25 recruiter John Holliday is the Gators recruiter-of-record for Vandyke.
"He's a real cool guy," Vandyke said. "He's real laid back and straight up with you."
Vandyke, who had three interceptions and averaged 45.3 yards per kickoff return in 2005, will attend the Miami NIKE Camp this Sunday in Coral Gables, Fla.
