Miami an intriguing option for 2019 Georgia ATH Jashawn Sheffield

The Latest: Even though he’s only halfway through his high school career, Class of 2019 athlete Jashawn Sheffield is already a seasoned veteran on the recruiting trail. He’s been adding offers since his freshman year, and now has an offer list that includes most if not all of college football’s heavy hitters. Among the programs pushing hard early in the process is Miami. Rivals.com caught up with Sheffield to talk about the Hurricanes.

In His Words: “Miami is a school that has been keeping in touch. I know Coach Todd Hartley well and my parents know him well, too. He’s been recruiting me since he was at Georgia. He said they want me to come for a visit and build a bond. I’ve never been before but I’m going to go soon for sure.

On what he knows about the program: “I don’t know a lot about them. I’ve just been listening to Deejay Dallas and he says it’s like paradise down there. We’re friends and I trust his opinion so it’s something I want to take a look at for sure. I think they’re on the right track to be great again and I feel like I could be a part of that.”

Rivals Reaction: Schools like Ohio State and Georgia appear to be in good early position for Sheffield, but with a player of his caliber there is likely to be many twists and turns in his recruitment before it’s all said and done. With that said, the connection to the Miami staff from its days at Georgia and a connection with Dallas should give the Canes a chance at impressing Sheffield during the process.
