Metroplex CB getting consistent mail

Mesquite (Texas) Horn athlete Justin Chatman has the ability to play different spots in the defensive backfield while sharing time at cornerback and even safety when he took over for an injured senior last year. His ability at corner though is brining him heavy recruiting interest from all over the country.
The 5-foot-9, 162-pounder is getting mail from Northwestern, Clemson, UCLA, Washington, LSU and others. Chatman says that right now, there are no favorites yet. His abilities at cornerback is where he sees himself making the most impact.

"Most schools are recruiting me at that spot," Chatman said about corner. "I've got plenty of quickness and I've very physical. One of our seniors last year, Olaitan Oguntodu, got hurt so I moved to free safety. Other than that, I was a full-time corner."
His performance at both spots earned him 76 tackles, 49 solo tackles, two fumble recoveries, and two sacks. He also had eight pass breakups. That earned him a first-team all-district selection at Horn.
So far, Chatman has been to one college junior day event and it went very well.
"Yeah, I made it up to Northwestern's junior day – I liked that a lot," Chatman said. "I really loved the coaching staff up there and it seemed like a good environment.
"They haven't talked with me about an offer yet."
