Merritt takes first official
Sandy Spring (Md.) Sherwood athlete Jamal Merritt took his first official visit this past weekend. The 6-foot-0, 175-pounder headed to Ohio to check out the Bobcats.
"It was a nice visit, I liked it," he said. "Pretty much they just showed me around the campus and the facilities. I got to meet some of the players.

"My player host was Gerald Moore. It was nice, he showed me a good time."
On the visit, Merritt spent quite a bit of time with the coaching staff.
"We had some nice talks."
Merritt maintains no leaders at this moment.
In the meantime, the No. 16 prospect in Maryland isn't sure what's not.
"I'm not too sure about that January 28th official to Rutgers," he said. "I'm not too sure what's next."
