Merritt slows it down

Three-star athlete Jamal Merritt out of Sandy Spring (Md.) Sherwood has been taking it slow. The 6-foot-0, 175-pounder has halted visits over the past month, but now that the season is approaching he's starting to look into them once again.
"I've just been in summer school and the weight room getting ready for the upcoming season," he said. "Summer school has been going good, everything is falling into place."

Previously Merritt mentioned plans for visits, is he still on track to take any soon?
"I haven't taken any lately," he said. "I haven't gotten the chance to get out and visit. We're definitely going to set something up during the season and probably after.
"I'm not sure where I'm going to go or which schools I'm going to visit."
Merritt claims three offers at this time from Rutgers, East Carolina and Ohio.
"I actually haven't even talked to those schools lately," he said. "I'm going to give them a call this week coming up."
The No. 15 prospect in Maryland claims no favorites at this time.
"Right now I can't tell you which school I like most, I just don't know," he said. "I'm just getting ready for camp and two-a-days to get a state championship this year."
