Merritt remaining patient

Three-star athlete Jamal Merritt is sitting on three scholarships. Interest is picking up from a few other schools for the 6-foot-0, 175-pounder. What's the latest?
"I'm just keeping in contact with coaches," he said. "I haven't visited anywhere right now, I may take a couple visits to see some games soon, but I have no clue where. I couldn't tell you."
Outside of his offers from East Carolina, Ohio and Rutgers, Merritt is getting interest from a few other schools.
"I've heard from West Virginia, North Carolina, Temple and Pittsburgh," he said. "I'm not too sure how interested they are, but they want to see my highlight tape from this year. They are still evaluating."
Meanwhile, what's his status with the offers?
"I just keep in contact with them and they are all just making sure I'm on top of what I'm doing."
Merritt maintains no favorites at this time.
"I'm not sure yet," he said. "I like all the schools equally. I gotta see what comes up and take some visits."
On the field, Merritt missed the first two games of the season due to a wrist injury but has played the past two weeks.
"The team is doing really well and I'm playing both ways," he said. "Last game I had two receptions at receiver, that was the first game I played wideout this year.
"I think I could play better still, but it's good getting back out there."
