Memphis QB may be down to two

Three-star Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose quarterback Antonio Heffner was scheduled to take an official visit with one of his semifinalists this weekend, but has dropped that school from consideration.
“I was supposed to go to Louisville, but they wanted me to reschedule my visit,” he said. “I don’t think I will now. I just like the situation with my other choices a little bit more.”

Heffner (6-3, 180, 4.5) visited Memphis in December. Next week, he has a trip scheduled to South Carolina, but he’s not sure if he’ll take that one.
“More than likely the only other one I’m going to take is Kentucky,” he said. “I’ll be going there on the 23rd. I like them and Memphis the most. They have the best situation for a quarterback like me to come in and develop, and their systems fit my style of play.”
Heffner declined to name a favorite between the hometown Tigers and the Wildcats, who have featured some of his former Melrose teammates in the past.
“I want to wait until that visit to really say much as far as that goes,” he said. “I like them both right now.”
As a senior, Heffner passed for 1,260 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also rushed for five scores.
