Memphis making way in Marietta

Marietta, Ga., defensive back Traye Simmons is one of the top sleeper prospects in the state of Georgia. He has collected a pretty nice list of offers, but it appears that he could make a commitment this weekend during an official visit.
"Traye is getting on a plane here in a little while and will be flying up to Memphis for his official visit," Marietta coach Friday Richards said. "He has some pretty good offers, but I think he is probably going to go ahead and commit to them this weekend while he is up there. They have been recruiting him really hard here lately and he has a teammate that is already committed to them."

A teammate committed to Memphis you say?
"Yeah, we have another guy that has flown under the radar somewhat, but he is a very good prospect with a lot of upside," Richards said. "Greg Jackson is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound defensive end/tight end for us, but Memphis wanted him to come in and play linebacker for them. He took an official visit there last weekend and committed to them on his visit."
