Memphis LB is wide open

Memphis (Tenn.) Christian Brothers linebacker Chris Walker is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the Southeast for the class of 2007.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder has scholarship offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Louisville, Memphis, Miami (Fla.) and Vanderbilt and is getting serious attention from Notre Dame and LSU.

"It's really kind of exciting right now to have all of these offers and I'm just a junior," he said. "I know that I have options."
"Right now, I don't even have a top five," Walker said. I'm just trying to feel my way around. I want to take my time and take all five of my official visits before I decide."
Louisville was one of the more recent programs to offer Walker. He took an unofficial visit there this weekend.
"I liked U of L," Walker said. "The facilities were very nice and the coaches were cool and everything. I hung out with (Cardinals incoming freshman) Rodney Gnat of Jacksonville. He was real cool and we talked about the program."
Walker had 83 tackles (11 for loss) during his junior season at Christian Brothers. He was a Super 7 All-State selection and also plays basketball.
