Memphis adds big offensive tackle

This weekend Jordan Miller, an offensive tackle out of Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison took an official visit to Memphis. The big prospect had been receiving interest from the Tigers for some time and had been showing the Conference USA program some interest in return. This weekend, that interest turned into a commitment.
"I committed to Memphis," Miller said on Sunday afternoon. "Essentially it was this morning. I talked to some of the coaches about it last night and then this morning I commited."

Miller already had a comfort level at Memphis after visiting in the fall but his official visit cemented his approval of the program and the school.
"The visit was great," he said. "It was really great. I got to meet a bunch of guys. I already had made a couple friends from going to a game back in the fall so it was good to hang out with them again. It was great."
Miller chose Memphis over programs such as Boston College, Marshall and Western Carolina. He noted that Memphis' recruiting efforts was the primary reason for his decision.
"They had been doing a great job of recruiting me," he said. "I had been up there in the summer for a camp and ever since then they've been really steady. I've been to a lot of camps and lots of guys will tell you that they like you but I knew they liked me at Memphis. They followed through very well."
At 6-foot-8, Miller has a great frame and will be an offensive tackle in college. He does plan on redshirting and adding weight to his frame, an issue he has no problem with.
"I don't think I'd want it any other way," he said of the redshirting. "That gives me five years to get my education and work in a great program."
