Memorable week for Kentucky QB

It's been a whirlwind week for Jackson (Ky.)
quarterback

Justin Haddix.
Haddix (6-2, 193, 4.7) won a state championship,
broke a state passing record and picked up his first scholarship offer.
"It's been an unbelievable week," he said. "I feel
like I'm on top of the world right now."
Haddix led Breathitt County to the Class 2A state
championship on Friday by passing for 249 yards and three touchdowns in a
51-0 rout of Corbin. In the process, he broke former Louisville Male
quarterback Chris Redman's record for touchdown passes in a single season
with 58. He finished his senior season with 4,355 yards passing (the third
highest total in state history), 1,115 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns on
the ground.
Prior to the state title game, he picked up a
scholarship offer from new Eastern Kentucky coach Danny Hope.
"He called as soon as he got the job and said we
really want you," Haddix said. "He told me he was putting in the offense
they used when he was an assistant at Purdue, that they're going to really
air it out. I like the sound of that."
He's also receiving regular calls from Clemson,
Marshall, Illinois and Ohio.
"They've all been calling at least once a week,
trying to set up some official visits," he said. "I'm probably going to wait
and see who offers from that bunch before I do anything, but it sounds like
Clemson is pretty close. They've been recruiting me for a long time, ever
since I went to the Bowden quarterback camp."
