Meisner takes unofficial to Kentucky

Defensive end Greg Meisner took an unofficial visit last weekend to Kentucky. The Greensburg (Pa.) Hempfield prospect had a good time in Lexington and is planning to take a trip to the Big East this weekend.
"Last weekend I went to the Kentucky-Vanderbilt game," he said. "It was cool and pretty exciting. I've only been there twice before and it was overcast, but the stadium was still full and loud. From what I saw, they are a pretty good football team and I enjoyed myself."

This week Meisner plans to take an unofficial up to Cincinnati.
"I plan to go up with a buddy of mine," he said. "I've been there once before and I just want to check it out a little more, meet with some of the coaches and see a good game. I believe they're playing Rutgers."
As for officials, the two-star prospect plans to start taking them in December.
"I'm looking to start them in early December," he said. "I haven't really thought about which schools I'll go to, but I do plan to take all five visits. I've got a few other offers besides Cincinnati and Kentucky like Delaware, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I think I may try to go to a couple of those."
Although Hempfield didn't make the playoffs, Meisner had a pretty solid year.
"I played well and finished with about five or six sacks," he said. "I was happy with it. I didn't get as many sacks as I wanted since I finished the year with injuries. I had a sore knee, but I can say I improved a lot. I got heavier and I'm much stronger."
