Mehlhaff really likes Minnesota

The nation’s No. 1 kicker took an official visit to Minnesota this weekend, so what did Aberdeen, S.D., three-star standout Taylor Mehlhaff think about his time in Minneapolis?
“I was going into the visit telling myself that I wasn’t going to commit since it was my first trip,” Mehlhaff said. “But I tell you what - I was very impressed about what they had to offer. They’ve offered me a scholarship, and I came away liking everything I saw.”

But Mehlhaff said he’s not going to commit quite yet.
“Ohio State has been really calling me a lot the last few weeks,” Mehlhaff said. “I think they’re looking for a kicker that can come in and play quickly. I just need to see what the situation with them or with the other teams on my list is.”
There is no question, though, that Minnesota came away with a good impression on Mehlhaff.
“I learned a lot about Minnesota, and know they have a good situation,” Mehlhaff said.
