Meeks visits UNC

Four-star safety Jonathan Meeks took his first official visit over the weekend. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder out of Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy made his way to Chapel Hill.
"It went great," he said. "I first got there and they took me to a nice hotel. I ate a lot and kept eating.

"I got there Friday night. When I arrived I watched practice and attended a team meeting. They went through the plays and then I went back to my hotel.
"On Saturday I had breakfast and then went to the stadium for pregame warm-ups."
Meeks made the trip at least partially to see North Carolina play. What did he think?
"It was a great game," he said. "The defensive backs had three interceptions and ran one back. I liked that. I liked the atmosphere too. Even though it was raining, the fans were there."
Meeks hung out with a number of players on the visit.
"I was with one of the running backs, Michael McAdoo and Kevin Reddick who was on my official with me from Hargrave," he said. "They were just showing me around, telling me how they ere is room to play and how they like the team chemistry."
The No. 18 prep school prospect in the country spent a lot of time with the coaches as well.
"I spent a lot of time with my recruiter, Coach Browning," he said. "I really spent a lot of time with the whole coaching staff. I like Coach Davis a lot. He is great. I love them all actually. They are funny.
"I had a great conversation with Coach Davis. He's really intelligent and a good coach. He has NFL experience and I like the fact he wasn't forcing Carolina down my face."
Meeks plans to take another visit in the near future.
"I'm going to take another visit, but I'm not sure where yet, it's between Tennessee and Florida."
Meeks has helped Hargrave to an 8-0 record so far this season.
"I feel like I'm getting better individually. I have one interception so far this season."
