Position: Quarterback
Size and Speed: Meager is 6-foot-3 and 192 pounds. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds.
Statistics: Meager threw for 910 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 67-of-146 passes. He ran for 697 yards on 93 carries. He rushed for 10 touchdowns.
Honors: Meager was named first-team All-District 12-4A quarterback.
Favorite Schools: Meager lists Arizona State, UNLV, San Diego State, Virginia Tech, UCLA and Virginia as his top schools. He is currently receiving mail from Virginia Tech, Virginia, Louisiana Tech, Boston College, North Carolina State and California.
Skinny: Meager’s statistics show his skills as both a runner and a thrower. But he would like to be more of a pro-style passer.
“I would like to be more of a drop-back quarterback,” Meager said. “But our current offensive line I’m more of a running quarterback. It works well, but that is something I want to work on.”
Meager’s wanting to be a drop back passer can be tied to who he lists as his sports hero.
“I’ve always liked John Elway. He was a drop-back guy who could move around some. He had a great arm too.”
While no scholarship offers have come Meager’s way yet, he knows it is early.
“I’m getting lots of mail, and it is early in the process still. I’ve got time to look at things and see what schools are like.”
One factor in Meager’s decision will be where the school is.
“The location of a school will be a big factor for me. There are other things to look at too, but that will be a big factor.”
