Meadows is headed to the Big Ten

Goochland, Va. kicker Thomas Meadows made his decision earlier this evening. The 6-foot-0, 170-pounder has decided to head to the Big Ten and broke down his selection inside.
"I probably committed about 20 minutes ago," he said. "I talked to Coach Gibboney and they were excited. They were pumped up

Meadows just landed the scholarship earlier this week, what made him jump on the opportunity now?
"It was a great opportunity, it was a full ride and everything I've seen from them I liked," he said. "It's the best degree for me and I got along great with the coaching staff. I was their No. 1 guy and I really like Coach Gibboney. I know he's a great coach that can help me reach my full potential. I'm really not worried about the fact of going to Indiana, it all added up and it's the right decision to make.
"It was just the best overall place and I wanted to be there. My visit was great when I went to camp and toured the campus. It's a beautiful campus, it's a great place to be."
Meadows believes playing time is to be had early on in his career.
"I think if I go in there and compete, I can do kickoffs, punts and field goals as a freshman," he said. "They're leaning towards kickoffs and punts right now, I think I can compete and start at something as a freshman."
Meadows noted he may not be done with visits though.
"The coaches told me they would be fine with me going to a couple camps, so right now I'm still planning on going to Virginia and Virginia Tech, but I am going to Purdue."
