Meachem remains silent

You can say a lot without saying much, and the typically soft-spoken Robert Meachem had a lot to say, but with few words. Rumors have been flying around the Internet regarding a possible silent commitment from the five star wide receiver, but really, the young man is just silent.

“I’m really just concentrating on school, and my season, and winning the state championship,” Meachem, the five-star receiver from Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington, said.
Booker T. knocked off 5A powerhouse Carl Albert last weekend in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. The state title is well within reach for Booker T. with that Carl Albert hurdle out of the way.
“They have always been the team that knocks us out,” Meachem said. “I had a good game. I scored a touchdown and had a couple big stops.”
With the march towards the championship taking precedence, Meachem hasn’t had time to focus on recruiting just yet.
“I haven’t narrowed it down at all,” he said. “It’s wide open between the six favorites.”
Those six favorites are Alabama, Florida, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
Meachem, with all his athleticism, is also a standout on the hardwood. In fact, he might want to play both sports at the next level.
“I’ve talked to the coaches, and it’s a possibility,” he said. “Cincinnati looks good. My favorite sport is basketball, but I’m going to make my decision based on football.”
Between his talents on the football field and on the hardwood, Meachem is seeing relentless pressure on the recruiting front.
“Everybody in the country is coming after me,” he said. “It never stops.”
