Last month defensive end Dalonte Wallace took in one unofficial. The 6-foot-0, 199-pounder out of Greenbelt (Md.) Eleanor Roosevelt plans to take two more visits in the coming weeks.
"I went to Virginia over a week ago," he said. "It was amazing there. The people, the coaches, players, facilities and everything was good. I just went up for a one day camp.
"The coaches there told me they were really impressed with how I did and said just keep working hard. They gave me a few scenarios on how I may earn an offer. They just need to see a bit more of me this year."
Next up for Wallace are visits to Michigan State and Virginia Tech.
"I'm going to Michigan State this weekend and possibly on July 14th to Virginia Tech for camp. I may try to visit Clemson later this month too," he said. "I just want to go to those schools and see how they work. I also want to find out what kind of people I'll be around if I go there."
Is Michigan State or Virginia Tech talking about offering?
"Michigan State said there is a real big possibility they could offer since they need linebackers. They only signed one last year. It's basically a done deal if I do what I'm supposed to and perform," he said. "As for Virginia Tech, I talk to coach Sherman once in a while. It's a standstill right now."
Wallace currently holds four offers from Akron, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan and JMU.
At this moment, no schools are leading for Wallace's services.
"I don't really have any favorites," he said. "It's a long process and I'm just going to keep on working hard. More than likely I'll make a decision after the season."
