MDs Campbell looking to cut his list

Things have slowed down recently for four-star tight end Devonte Campbell. The 6-foot-1, 234-pounder out of Forestville, Md. hasn't taken any visits recently and instead is focusing his efforts on the upcoming season.
"I'm practicing everyday with my team, but practice doesn't officially start until August 15th," he said. "I can definitely tell that I'm a little bit faster this year and naturally I'm getting stronger. I do still want to work on making myself untouchable on the field to prepare myself better for college."

The Rivals250 prospect believes he may take one more unofficial before the season starts.
"I'm thinking I'll probably go to Maryland in the next couple weeks," he said. "I've pretty much seen everything there, but I want to watch their practice some more and see how they compete."
At this time, Campbell has started to think about narrowing his list, but can't do it quite yet.
"I haven't made up my mind who will be in my list, but I do plan to cut it to approximately 10 schools by August 15th," he said. "I have also thought about official visits and I definitely can say that I'll be taking all five of them."
Campbell's coach, Charles Harley, said he thinks three schools will get officials.
"Georgia Tech, Penn State and Illinois I think will get visits," said Harley. "I know he also likes Maryland and Georgia a lot."
What is the No. 3 player in Maryland looking for out of a school.
"The major thing I want is a good education. I want a degree that means something," Campbell said. "I'm also looking for a chance to play and then distance will be a factor. It's not a huge factor if they are far away from home, but I don't want to be all the way across the country."
Last season Campbell hauled in 20 receptions for 768 yards and 10 touchdowns. He registered 62 tackles and seven sacks on defense on his way to all-county and all-metro honors.
