MDs Brewer looking for an offer

It's hard for defensive end Lawrence Brewer out of Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly to get attention when star players including Joe Haden and Vincent Hill go to his school. Nevertheless the 6-foot-4, 249-pounder is getting his share of interest from a variety of colleges.
"I'm recovering from a knee injury so I haven't seen any offers," he said. "I am hearing from a lot of schools though including Connecticut, Ohio State, Boston College, Louisville, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Akron and Vanderbilt. They keep telling me that they may offer after the first couple games once I send game tape in."

Currently Brewer claims there are no favorites.
"I'm not leaning towards anyone," he said. "Certainly the reputations of the bigger programs catch my eye, but I'm looking for a lot of things out of a school. First I want to have a comfort level with the coaches. I also want a strong program that is winning and has a good academic aspect too."
After missing most of last season, Brewer is hoping to step up this year.
"I want to come back stronger than I did last year because the injury slowed me down," he said. "My recovery is coming along well and I should be completely ready by practice to help our team to win a state championship."
