MD, VTech, MSU lead for QB

Quarterback Jordan Steffy is a threat with his arm or running in the open field. He currently has more than 30 offers, but only three schools are at the top of his list.
"Maryland, Virginia Tech and Michigan State are up there," said Steffy. "Clemson and Syracuse are behind those three, but all five are places I could see myself attending."
What is it about those schools that has drawn the 6-foot-2, 210-pound quarterback from Leola (Pa.) Conestoga Valley to them?
"The style of offense is going to be a big factor in my decision, and I like what each of those schools is going to do. Michigan State's new staff is going to spread the field and Clemson is going to spread the field.
"I recently ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds at the Penn State NIKE camp, so I can run the option. That helps out places like Maryland, Virginia Tech and Syracuse."
Steffy is also doing his homework when it comes to playing time.
"I'm also going to be looking at the depth chart at each school very hard. Just seeing who's on scholarship at quarterback and what year they are. I don't want to get buried in the depth chart for my whole college career.
"And the quarterback's coach is going to be important, even moreso than the head coach in my opinion. I'll be working with him a lot more closely than the head coach."
Steffy currently offers from almost every school in the Big 10, ACC and Big East and he currently has 32 in all. He would like to see some games this year before making his decision.
"Yes, I'd like to make official visits to places corresponding with big games they'll be playing in, just so I can see the overall football atmosphere first hand. I'm going to try to go to Michigan State during the weekend of the Michigan game, and to Maryland the week of the Clemson game. I might go to Virginia Tech the week of the Miami game."
Expect a decision sometime during his senior season.
"I would prefer to make my decision as soon as possible, but I'm probably going to wait a little while longer. Midseason is the most accurate estimation I could give you. We're really busy with 7-on-7's and working out, so I'm not ready yet."
