MD sleeper DT is headed to the MAC

Severn (Md.) Archbishop Spalding defensive tackle Terrell Johnson made a decision a couple weeks back. The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder is headed to the MAC.
"I committed about two or three weeks ago to Kent State," he said. "It took my official visit this weekend there.

"I felt comfortable there and it was somewhere I knew I was wanted. I got a lot of recruiters pursuing me and phone calls, but no one was as consistent as Kent State. That was a factor in my decision."
Johnson held one other offer from James Madison and had a walk-on spot from Arizona and interest from Maryland as well.
A few other factors were important in the lineman's choice as well.
"The fact they were Division I was important," he said. "My ultimate goal was to take my talent to the toughest competition possible.
"I do have a chance to play earlier. If I can come in and dominate like in high school I'll see the field."
Johnson posted 93 tackles this past season for Archbishop Spalding.
