MD safety is taking visits

Germantown (Md.) Seneca Valley safety Xavier Hughes has been on a couple unofficial visits recently. The 6-foot-1, 158-pounder plans to take one more trip this weekend before preparing for the season.
"I went to Rutgers and Pittsburgh not too long ago," he said. "They were really good. I got to see how I mixed it up with players from across the country. It was a great experience.

"Neither school offered me, but they talked about my play and getting my grades up."
What's next for the three-star prospect?
"I'm going to go to Louisville on July 13th and that's pretty much it. I may try to get up to Syracuse, but that's going to be a last minute decision."
Hughes currently holds offers from West Virginia, Akron, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Kent State and Temple.
Is there a leader?
"The only school I've been to that's offered is West Virginia," he said. "I loved it down there. I plan on making more visits to see campuses and programs.
"I also want to go on my official visits and then make a decision around December."
