MD end Mason sees interest pick up

Frederick, Md. defensive end Forrest Mason continues to sit on two scholarship offers. Recruiting is picking up for the 6-foot-3, 234-pounder following a strong senior season.
"I'm still getting letters and I just sent out my highlight tape," he said. "California, Mississippi State, Missouri, Rutgers and Kansas State are interested.

"Connecticut and East Carolina still have offered."
Mason has taken one unofficial visit in recent weeks.
"I went up to Rutgers to see the USF game," he said. "They told me they were really interested and just keep doing what I'm doing and most likely they'll offer."
Mason confirmed he plans to start taking official visits in January.
The two-star prospect finished the year with 95 tackles, 9.5 sacks, one interception, 20 tackles for loss on his way to first team all-conference.
"I used my hands a lot more this year and kept lineman away from my body. I saw a big improvement."
