MD DE is one to watch

Randallstown (Md.) defensive end Melvin Alaeze has already received two scholarship offers but there will be many more on the way. Alaeze, regarded as one of the top defensive players in Maryland, is hearing from a host of top schools. Who has offered the talented defensive end?
"I have scholarship offers from Maryland and Southern Cal," said the 6-foot-3, 250-pound lineman who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds.

Who else is showing interest in Alaeze?
"The schools showing the most interest are Maryland, Southern Cal, Virginia, Miami, Boston College, and Penn State."
Does Alaeze have a favorite?
"No, I pretty much like them all. I am wide open."
Last season, Alaeze racked up 50 tackles and 15 sacks. What does he plan to do this offseason to prepare himself for playing at the college level?
"I am not thinking about college right now. I am trying to lead my team so that they will strive in classroom, on the field, and in the weightroom. I want to win now."
What does Alaeze look for in a college?
"Academics come first for me. I just want to go to a school that is the best fit for me. I want to play in a scheme that will highlight my abilities."
Alaeze has a 2.5 GPA and will take the SAT in May.
