McReynolds talks officials, favorites

Rivals250 defensive tackle Kevin McReynolds out of Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High has taken a break on visits since his West Coast tour. However, the 6-foot-2, 281-pounder is working on his official visits.
"Right now I'm talking to some schools about possibly working on a trip here and there," he said. "I have a solid feel of where I want to go for my officials.

"I've already said I'll take officials to UCLA, Oregon and Arkansas. North Carolina still could get a visit, but I've backed off of late because of NCAA violations. I want to find out more about that situation. I think anyone can make a play for those final two visits."
Is it fair to say McReynolds if favoring UCLA, Oregon and Arkansas right now?
"I'd definitely say that," he said. "I've visited those schools and my family feels comfortable with those schools. It's the total atmosphere of them, but there are others in there. Maryland is going to be in my final decision. I just don't want to waste a visit on a school I can drive 10 minutes to."
As recruiting is on the backburner, McReynolds is keeping busy with two-a-days.
"We're on the last week of two-a-days and then we've got a scrimmage on Tuesday against Georgetown Prep and on Friday against Gilman, "he said. "I feel like as a team we are developing the right things. We're getting where we need to go and we have the right pieces this year."
As far as his play, the four-star prospect feels he has improved a lot heading into this season.
"I've seen a lot of differences," he said. "I felt like I was in better shape than in the past and I've been more physically dominant in the way I move."
McReynolds and St. John's College High open the season on August 28th against Calvert Hall.
