McRath chooses Golden Eagles

Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern linebacker Gerald McRath has pulled the trigger on his college decision.
“I've decided to go to Southern Miss,” he said. “It was a long thought process for me. I see myself playing early and I fit in the best at Southern Miss. They did a great job recruiting me and I'm going to be joining my buddy C.J. (Barrows).

“I think it's going to feel a whole lot better tomorrow. I think I'm shocking a lot of people but I went with my gut feeling.”
McRath (6-2, 218, 4.53) had just come off what he described as a good official visit to Auburn this weekend.
As a senior at McEachern, he had 90 tackles, five tackles for loss and four forced fumbles.
