McRae high on two

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna wide receiver Fred McRae is currently looking at a top two and working to set up his first official visits.
"I haven't taken any visits yet and they aren't scheduled yet but I do plan on taking some," McRae said. "I want to go to Memphis and Maryland. Those are the two schools I am talking to the most right now."

At this point, McRae holds an offer from Memphis but is still waiting to hear about an official tender from Maryland.
Obviously, the recent news that Larry Porter was let go at Memphis has thrown a wrinkle into where things stand with the Tigers.
"I haven't heard from them since that happened," McRae said. "I had been talking to the defensive backs coach (Shannon Morrison), but I haven't heard from him since the news with Coach (Larry) Porter.
"I don't know what it all means," McRae added. "It depends on who is coming in."
With regards to the Terps, McRae expects them to swing by South Florida to see him in the near future.
"I am hearing from Coach (Keith) Dudzinski at Maryland," McRae said. "He just told me they are evaluating me right now. They are coming down this week."
As for when he will hit the road, likely over the next couple weeks.
"I think I will be visiting them both this month," McRae said.
At this stage of his recruitment, McRae is still evaluating his options and not in a rush to make a decision.
"I don't have a leader right now," McRae said. "I don't think I will decide until after Christmas."
In addition to Memphis, McRae also claims offers from Central Florida, Florida International, Illinois, Kansas, South Florida, and West Virginia.
On his senior season, McRae contributed as both a wide receiver and defensive back. He had over 400 yards in receptions and seven touchdowns.
