McQuitty camps with Bama

Columbia (Mo.) Battle wide receiver Jaevon McQuitty has two offers before his junior season, and his pursuit for more led him to Alabama earlier this month.
"I camped with Bama and just got back recently," McQuitty reported. "I did really good and they are going to have me come down for a visit."

Alabama only recently started recruiting the 6-foot-2, 190-pound McQuitty, and he made a quick decision to attend their camp.
"Their receivers coach had followed me on Twitter," McQuitty said. "He had DM'd me and told me he'd love for me to come to the camp. I had told him I was coming and my parents took me down there."
McQuitty had expectations for Alabama prior to the camp his visit, and the Crimson Tide met those expectations.
"I found out why Alabama is Alabama," McQuitty said. "If you don't want to work and get better, that's not the school for you. As soon as we got to camp we were running off the bat. It was crazy, but they work hard there. I was really impressed and liked that atmosphere."
McQuitty picked up his first offer of the recruiting process when he visited Nebraska in April. He is planning a return visit to Lincoln for an early season game.
"I am going Sept. 5 when they play BYU," McQuitty reported. "I went to the spring game and that was pretty much a football game. I know it is going to be a huge fan base and really loud."
Even as more offers come through, McQuitty expects Nebraska to be one of the top contenders for his services throughout.
"It's close to home and I like the coaching staff," he said. "They are really cool and family-oriented, and I like that a lot about them."
Kansas is the other school that has offered McQuitty. That offer was tendered toward the end of the Spring Evaluation Period.
"The recruiter came to my school and I think he wanted to talk with me, but I was in class taking a test," McQuitty said. "They had me call him that next morning and he told me they wanted to offer me."
McQuitty has yet to visit Kansas and does not have any dates scheduled to do so, but would like to travel to Lawrence sometime this fall.
"I have seen them play Mizzou because I used to go to the Border Rivalry when I was younger," McQuitty said. "I actually have a lot of interest in checking them out because I wonder what the city is like and what the people are like."
Before McQuitty jumps headlong into his junior season, the three-star receiver has one more camp he will attend.
"Arkansas just talked to my coach and they want me to come down there Thursday for a one-day (camp). I'm going to do that," McQuitty said. "I really don't know that much about Arkansas, but we have a guy in our city - Hayden Johnson - who is committed there and he has been talking to me about it."
The No. 2 ranked player in the state of Missouri's 2017 class, McQuitty is coming off a sophomore season in which he recorded 50 receptions for 590 yards and three touchdowns.
