McNeil adds two new offers

It has been a busy week for Indianapolis (Ind.) Decatur Central offensive tackle Lukayus McNeil. School started last Wednesday, and the 6-foot-7, 268-pounder added two new scholarship offers from BCS programs in consecutive days to start the new week.
The first of McNeil's new offers came when he was visiting Michigan State for a practice on Sunday.

"They offered me when I was there," McNeil said. "They said they watched my tape and loved the way I played."
The trip to East Lansing was McNeil's second time on Michigan State's campus, and allowed him to focus in on specific aspects of the program.
"The last time I was there I had seen everything," McNeil said. "This time I met the head coach and watched the practice. They were really intense and always ready to go. [Dantonio] was more laid back, and I got a real good impression. He was really nice."
The visit and offer has now vaulted Michigan State to the top of McNeil's interest list, with an in-state school.
"They are up there on my list now. It's between them and IU," McNeil said. "For sure I am looking at more schools, but right now I am just trying to get them all ready to figure out which school I want to go to."
Among the other schools McNeil is considering is Oklahoma, which followed Michigan State's offer with one of their own on Monday.
"I just got a new offer today from Oklahoma," McNeil said. "I'm still looking at them, but I do know they are ranked No. 8 in the country and send a lot of people to the NFL. I am about to set up a visit there soon. I might make it an official."
The first official visit for McNeil has already been set, and it will be to another school looking to make a move on his top two.
"I am taking one Sept. 7 to N.C. State," he said. "I am looking forward to it a lot."
With his newest additions, McNeil is closing in on a total of 20 scholarship offers. He has no timetable for making his final decision, and plans to see as many schools that have offered as possible before that time comes.
