McKnight names early favorites

Steffon McKnight has a bunch of offers already but there are a few programs that haven't offered yet that stand out early in his recruitment.
So far, the 2016 wide receiver from San Diego (Calif.) Mira Mesa has been offered by Arizona State, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon State, San Diego State and UCLA.

He said one of those teams especially look good early on along with two schools that have not offered at this point.
"I'm actually looking at Oregon," McKnight said. "That is like No. 1 for me and then No. 2 would have to be Oregon State. No. 3 would be Texas A&M.
"I've liked Oregon since I was a kid when I was watching Darron Thomas at quarterback. I just love the way they run their offense and how things ran so smoothly.
"Oregon State is real. They just play hard and they play fast. With Texas A&M, the state of Texas sounds like a challenge to me and I like it and I like the way Texas A&M plays so they've always stood out to me."
More offers could be close for McKnight, who looked good earlier this spring at the RCS Southern California.
USC and Washington have been showing the most new interest along with three other teams and McKnight said he's excited for the upcoming camps he will attend. If things go well, the 2016 receiver could add to his offer list.
"USC has been showing interest, Washington just came down to our school, Notre Dame came to the school and Boise State and Washington State are getting involved, too," McKnight said.
"Washington and USC are the closest to offering. I'm going to both of their camps so we're going to see how that goes. It's going to be pretty exciting. This is going to be my first time going to actual college camps so I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the future."
