McKinney talks first two offers

Brandon McKinney jumped out with two quick offers but his recruitment slowed down later in the summer.
Still, the 2017 four-star defensive back from Orange (Calif.) Lutheran is receiving new interest from UCLA after camping with the Bruins and he's excited to see where that leads heading into his junior season.

"I talked to one of the DB coaches there and I followed him on Twitter and he followed me," McKinney said. "He said he was going to keep in touch. I really liked that. That's pretty cool."
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect also worked out for the Washington coaches this summer and it was especially valuable since the Huskies already offered.
McKinney got to spend some important time with Washington defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake and that was an important first step.
"It was good," McKinney said. "Coach Lake was really fun. I liked his energy. I liked all the coaches. They were really cool. I got a good feel for them."
Some important unofficial visits could be coming up. Because it's summer, McKinney said he has time to take some trips and he's looking to go to Arizona and Arizona State along with Washington in the coming weeks.
It's still early in his recruitment so McKinney wants to see a lot of schools - especially the ones that have offered - and really take his time leading into his junior season.
"I was planning on a trip over to Arizona soon because it's the summer and I have a lot of free time," McKinney said. "I was planning to go to both and then take a trip up to UW as well."
