McKinley seeing lots of interest

Javon McKinley has landed two early offers and each one came in a different way.
The 2016 four-star wide receiver from Corona (Calif.) Centennial had not heard much from Arizona State before it decided to offer. With Washington, McKinley camped there and got to know the coaching staff and surroundings.

Both Pac-12 teams are under serious consideration but the 6-foot-2, 196-pound prospect admits it's still really early in his recruitment.
"ASU was a little out of the blue," McKinley said. "I really appreciate the first offer though. I'm really getting a lot of letters from them and they're staying interested. I'm trying to communicate with them.
"Washington offered me when I went up to their camp. It's a really nice school and nice facilities and a good stadium. I had a lot of fun up there and I met a lot of coaches."
McKinley, who helped lead Corona (Calif.) Centennial over Orange (Calif.) Lutheran at the Honor Bowl this past weekend, is receiving a bunch of interest as well.
The 2016 recruit said Oregon, Utah, Auburn, Kentucky, Northwestern and others have reached out recently and McKinley remains open to all programs.
"I'm trying to open up my interest now and look at other schools," McKinley said. "It's a little too early for me. I'm still amateur about all this recruiting stuff so I'm just trying to work on it."
Corona Centennial's high-octane offense struggled in the opening week in a loss to Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei but it picked up in the victory last weekend. McKinley had catches of 32 and 42 yards and also had a touchdown reception.
"The first week is seeing where you're at in the practice and the game and then the next week is really rebuilding and a lot of the thing that we needed to work on was execution," McKinley said.
"Practice was nothing new really just more working on getting the ball, getting our blocking down and working on our routes."
