McGriff starts to receive interest

Pittsburgh (Pa.) Shaler athlete Curtis McGriff has received mail from a handful of schools in the ACC, Big East and MAC. Which schools have been in contact with the 5-foot-11, 177-pounder?

"He's getting mail from Boston College, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Miami (Ohio), Akron, Temple, Dayton and some others," his father Curtis said. "I would believe his favorite is Maryland. He really likes the ACC, but he is pretty open at the moment since he's looking at going to junior days at Akron, Pittsburgh and others."

As a junior, McGriff hauled in 18 receptions for 447 yards and five touchdowns along with three interceptions. He went on to be named honorable mention all-conference.

"Curtis has great speed and probably the best first step I've ever seen," his father a former college basketball player said. "He also has really good hands despite not playing football in ninth and tenth grade."

McGriff is planning to attend the Penn State Nike Camp, Holy Cross combine along with summer camps at Buffalo and Toledo.
