McGinnis grabs Big 12 offer

New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton Rivals250 linebacker Arthur McGinnis added offers from Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and Tennessee in February. The trio joined Texas A&M, UCLA, and Mississippi State on his offer list.
As May approaches, the offers continue to mount. Georgia and Nebraska have offered and he has now reached double digits on the offer front. The latest came from Big 12 country by way of the Oklahoma Sooners, and one thought crossed McGinnis' mind after receiving the offer.

"That the offer is really great," McGinnis said. "Oklahoma was telling me how they were going to be coming by the spring game and spring practice and things like that and I got to talking to the linebackers coach and he was telling me I was offered. It feels great because Oklahoma has a real great system over there. Winning the Sugar Bowl. Beating Alabama."
McGinnis has not done a lot of research on the Sooners at this point, but he does plan to check into the program a bit more now.
"I know a little bit from when they beat Alabama, right now that's all I know," McGinnis said. "So I'm in the process of doing a little bit more research."
Right now, McGinnis does not have any visits scheduled with his focus solely on Warren Easton's spring practice. He does plan to take a few in the summer and two schools are on his potential visit list.
"I want to try and take a visit to Texas A&M, and I want to try and get out to UCLA," McGinnis said.
He is not ready to declare a favorite when it comes to his decision process, but he does have an idea about when he would like to start trimming his list.
"No, not right now," McGinnis said. "All the schools are pretty equal and I'm going to start breaking them down in the summer."
In addition to his offers there are several schools continuing to show interest.
"There's plenty of schools," McGinnis said. "LSU is starting to pick up. Cal is starting to pick up. USC. And a lot of other schools."
