McGee gets second offer

Washington (D.C.) H.D. Woodson quarterback Eddie McGee is currently focusing his attention on the upcoming season. The 6-foot-3, 189-pounder started practice on August 8th.
"Practice just started up and that's my main focus now," he said. "It's been going pretty good. Everyone is working hard and we're looking pretty good. We are ahead a lot more than we were last year."

What is McGee looking forward to this season?
"I'm looking forward to getting that jacket," he said. "We're starting to gel together as a team and I just want to lead my team to the bowl game. That's my main goal. This year I think I really need to work on picking up some weight and dropping my 40 even more. I want to get up to 205 pounds and 4.5-seconds in the 40 before college."
The No. 2 player in the District of Columbia already had an offer from Temple but has picked up a second written offer from Rutgers.
"I got that earlier this summer when I was at a 7-on-7 passing league there," he said. "I'm excited about getting another offer. It's always good to know someone is interested in you. I don't know too much about them, but they've been sending me a lot of mail. From the way they talk, it seems like they've got a pretty good coaching staff."
McGee mentioned he also has a handful of verbal offers from schools including Tennessee State, Maryland and Akron.
"Akron is in the MAC and they are producing quarterbacks in that conference," he said. "I feel Maryland is pretty good and they could use me up there."
The quarterback prospect doesn't have any favorites at this point in recruiting. He plans to take all five visits sometime after the football season.
McGee accounted for 2,400 yards, 15 touchdowns and two interceptions as a junior. He holds a solid 3.0 GPA.
