McGee down to six, sets announcement

Any college looking to land four-star cornerback prospect Brandon McGee better make a strong move in the next month because McGee is ready to decide. The 5-foot-11 defensive back out of Lauderhill (Fla.) Plantation has set his announcement date and has narrowed his finalists to six lucky programs.
"I'm ready to narrow it down and I'm going to make my announcement the first day of practice," McGee said on Tuesday evening. "I've really just been taking it all in, taking in the recruiting process, taking in my coach's advice, taking in my mentor's advice. I just felt like that was a good time to announce."

The press conference will take place on Monday, Aug. 11 at 10:00 am at Plantation High School. At that time McGee will be making a decision between his six finalists of Ohio State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Miami, Ole Miss and Florida State.
McGee talked about what is going into his decision.
"I definitely want to decide on the coaching situation and the coaching staff," he said. "The camaraderie and the team and the brotherly feeling is important, how the team gets along and interacts together. I'm looking for the ability and the chance to play early and having somebody in front of me to learn from and having a great mentor that can take me under their wing to learn from."
The electric, two-way athlete has been taking in a lot of programs this summer, including Miami, Tennessee and North Carolina and others. However, he now says that his travels are over.
"I'm working out and doing this training system, crazy training," he said. "I'm definitely just getting bigger, stronger and faster right now."
A bigger, stronger and faster Brandon McGee is a scary thought to a lot of programs except for one, the program that has its name called on August 11.
