McDonald heading to the SEC

Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Central strongside defensive end Ray McDonald has made a decision to stay in-state and play in the SEC, according to his mother.
"Ray committed to the University of Florida today," LaBrina McDonald, Ray's mother told Rivals100 just seconds ago. "He received a phone call from coach Spurrier welcoming to the Gator family. He's so excited to be a Gator."

McDonald, who is 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, just recently received an offer from the Gators last week. He also had offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas State and Purdue.
Tennessee and Georgia had also started to call him on a regular basis. McDonald is the No. 34 strongside defensive end in the nation. He has seen his stock soar the past month with a solid senior season.
