McDermott takes an official

Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth tight end Conor McDermott took his first official visit this past weekend. The 6-foot-8, 245-pounder checked out UCLA.
"It was a fun trip," he said. "It's a very beautiful campus and it was a fun experience meeting the coaches.

"I got out there Saturday morning cause I had a basketball game on Friday night and left Monday morning."
What did McDermott do on the trip?
"We just ate a lot of food and I got a good tour of the school and met with the coaches," he said. "My host was Kody Innes. I hung out with him and my brother. I've been out there before, but not a lot on campus so this was the first time I got an all out tour of the campus. It was nice to see."
On the trip, McDermott got quite a bit of time with the coaching staff as well.
"They're fun," he said. "They were really nice and I felt like they were doing their thing, they are right on track with the program," he said. "It was a good experience meeting with them."
Meanwhile, did the Bruins offer?
"The offer is pending," he said. "I mainly talked to Coach Neuheisel and he said he'd get back to me.
"I honestly don't really know what's happening there."
McDermott plans to take another trip this weekend to Virginia Tech.
A few other schools including Auburn, Nebraska and Michigan State are showing interest.
