McCoy makes up his mind

Dallas (Texas) Woodrow Wilson cornerback Greg McCoy returned from an official visit to TCU this past weekend with a decision on his mind.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder left TCU and delivered his decision to recruiter Dan Sharp and the Horned Frogs coaching staff on Sunday. The local defensive back saw all he needed to see from his visit.

"I just got back home and I committed to TCU actually," McCoy said. "It went very well. One thing I liked about them is that they had a lot of good things to say about me being an impact player. They also had a lot to say about getting a degree.
"I understand you have to be nice to someone when they're recruiting you to their school. But, I could tell they meant it. If I'm not doing what I'm supposed to be doing, I know they're going to say 'Greg, you're going to have to pick it up.'"
McCoy had one other official visit scheduled to North Texas on Jan. 19. He's unsure whether or not he'll make that trip.
"I'm debating whether or not I should go," McCoy said. "It just depends on how everything goes right now."
Either way, it wasn't just one specific trip that did it for McCoy. Head coach Gary Patterson's in-home visit this past fall also helped in his decision.
"He's the only head coach that I've been able to relate to," McCoy said about Patterson. "He's dealt with players like me before. I felt like I was a part of something."
