McCormick chooses Oregon

Cam McCormick had no need to wait any longer.
After a recent visit to nearby Oregon, the three-star tight end saw all he needed to and committed to the Ducks on Saturday.

"I just felt like I was ready and didn't want to prolong my decision any further," McCormick said. "I'm very excited and honored to be a part of Oregon's program now."
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound McCormick has been busy with basketball season at Bend (Ore.) Summit, but he made time to see what the Ducks had to offer and it turned out to be a productive visit. The Ducks, he said, are looking at him primarily as a tight end, but also could use him at outside linebacker.
"The visit sold me a lot," McCormick said. "I got to meet the players and getting the all-around tour was great. It's close to home so my family can come watch my games. All the coaches are great and are very genuine. The players made me feel like I was welcomed there."
McCormick also holds scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Washington and Washington State.
Oregon, though, was too much to turn down and McCormick said he's completely shutting off the recruiting process.
"I'm going to take my only official visit to Oregon my senior year," McCormick said. "I'm locked in with the Ducks 100 percent."
