McClatcher already on radar

Chico McClatcher has been nicknamed The Blue Mamba, a play off of Oregon's De'Anthony Thomas since the 2015 all-purpose back from Federal Way, Wash., is one of the fastest players in the Pacific Northwest.
The sophomore got the name from Taylor Barton, who runs camps in the area, and his recruitment has already started to take off.

"I guess Taylor Barton created the name because of how fast I go and how elusive I am as a sophomore," McClatcher said.
Washington and Portland State have already offered the Federal Way standout and he said Oregon and UCLA are showing lots of interest.
McClatcher, a 5-foot-7, 168-pound prospect, said he's spent some time at Washington watching practices and he's developed a strong relationship with running backs coach Joel Thomas.
The Huskies are one of McClatcher's early favorites but there is so much time left in his recruitment it's hard to judge which programs will stand out in the coming years.
The 2015 recruit had some positive things to say about the Huskies.
"I was excited when I got that offer," McClatcher said. "Washington is definitely one of the schools I want to go to after my senior year of high school. I was pretty excited to get that offer.
"The running backs coach and I talk a lot especially when I go over there for camps or when I stop by for practices up there. We know each other really well."
McClatcher was timed at 4.47 seconds in the SPARQ event last summer. Federal Way is currently 7-0.
