McClain one to watch in Ohio

Dayton, Ohio- Clayton (Ohio) Northmont had to earn their first win of the 2009 campaign the hard way, by heating a talented Lakota West squad 7-6 in gusty and wet conditions. 2011 prospect Josh McClain had just one catch on the day, but the 6-foot-2, 224 pound prospect is already firmly on the recruiting radar.
McClain lists Colorado as an early verbal offer. Following the game he spoke with Rivals.com and says he is hearing from plenty of other schools.

"A lot of people are telling me that Alabama is recruiting me hard too, but I don't really know right now," McClain said. "There are a lot of schools I am hearing from. I have gotten something from West Virginia, Oregon, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and a lot of MAC and Big Ten schools."
McClain is a well put together prospect. There is a strong likelihood he will outgrow the receiver position by the time college coaches are ready to assign a position to him.
"A lot of people are saying they want me on the defensive side of the ball," McClain stated. "It really does not matter, as long as I can help the team out, I am willing and able to do anything."
While McClain is certain to continue hearing from schools across the country, he has his eyes pointed a few miles south down Interstate-75.
"I am a real big fan of Cincinnati," McClain said. "I like the Bearcats. They would be my top choice right now."
McClain hopes his team's close win over Lakota West will prepare them for this Saturday's showdown at St. Ignatius, the defending Division-1 state champions, Ohio's largest classification.
"Tonight was a big win, they were really solid on the defensive end, anchored by Jordan Hicks, who I respect a lot. Brandon Neal is a really, really good cornerback. As a team we have to keep picking each other up and stay together. I think we did that really well tonight."
