McCarthy impressed with first visit

Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney standout Kyle McCarthy has flown somewhat under most recruiting radar screens, but is drawing more and more attention from recruiters almost daily, and has just completed his first official visit.
"I visited Toledo," McCarthy said. "It was a Thursday, Friday, Saturday visit since they had finals.

"It was great. I was really impressed with everything. They treated me great. I liked the people. They were down to earth.
"That was my first official visit, but I'm considering a few more in January. Some schools talking to me are Ohio State, Notre Dame, Boston College, Northwestern, and Wisconsin. They are all in pretty close contact. I'm considering all of them. It depends who offers.
"Arizona, Kent, Akron, Toledo, and Navy all offered.
The 6-foot-0 and 173 pound McCarthy did it all in leading Mooney to a state championship this season. McCarthy rushed for over 1000 yards, passed for 900, made 38 tackles, and intercepted four passes. He is being recruited as an "athlete."
