McCarthy has one visit planned

Cody McCarthy has scheduled one official visit and the Boise (Idaho) Bishop Kelly standout is taking his time and working with many schools trying to figure out where else to take trips.
McCarthy, a 6-foot-1, 228-pound inside linebacker, will visit Army the weekend of Jan. 28 but could schedule visits before and after that one - he just isn't sure about his plans just yet.

"Right now that's the only for sure one," McCarthy said about his Army visit.
"I'm kind of waiting after the dead period. Some other schools have talked about scheduling a visit but we're just waiting and trying to get this thing rolling a little bit faster."
Montana, Weber State and Portland State are also trying to schedule a visit with McCarthy but he hasn't finalized any of those plans yet. He said Boise State and Oregon State are also considering bringing him in over the next month or so.
Rivals.com rates McCarthy as the No. 36 inside linebacker nationally and fifth in the Rocky Mountain states top 8 of 2011. Bishop Kelly finished 12-0 this season and defeated Blackfoot, 41-28, in the state final.
Washington State and Idaho State have also been involved in McCarthy's recruitment but he didn't mention either program when talking about potential visits.
Army is under strong consideration - and in recent months McCarthy said it would be an honor to play for the Black Knights - but the top player in Idaho by Rivals.com didn't want to say he has any favorites at this point. First, he wants to take some visits to figure things out.
"It's my birthday so I wanted to schedule a visit," McCarthy said." I don't have a particular school I'm interested in right now. My options are still pretty wide open at this point."
