McCarron said he's really enjoyed practices so far and there are a few players that have jumped out to him.
"I would have to say the small running back from Florence, Shawn Southward, has impressed me quite a bit," McCarron said. "He has speed and he can cut on a dime. He also has good hands out of the backfield."
McCarron has always said he's going to take official visits to other schools, despite saying he's a solid pledge to the Crimson Tide. That's still not changed.
"Oh, yes, I'm still firm on Alabama," he said.
"But I'm taking visits. I have a visit set for Ole Miss, and we are in the process of setting visits to Oklahoma and Miami. I am going to take my visits it's a once in a lifetime opportunity."
