McCants still mulling decision

Corona (Calif.) Santiago running back Ryan McCants is one of the top power backs in the West region. The athlete had his season cut short after breaking his leg but still rushed for 624 yards and seven touchdowns in five games. The injury did allow the athlete to take several of his recruiting trips during the season but a decision still doesn't appear to be imminent.
McCants, 6-2, 235 pounds had his coming out party in week two of the season this past year when he rushed for 209 yards and three touchdowns against a very talented and tough Servite team. The athlete has great size and power and could play fullback or be the featured back in a one back offense.

On the recruiting front, McCants has taken official visits to Colorado, Nebraska, Arizona State and most recently Nevada. He's unsure if he'll take a 5th trip or not.
"I'm still discussing that with my family," McCants said. "I've been talking with UCLA, Fresno State and Oregon State about taking a visit but I haven't decided what I want to do. All of those schools have offered me except for UCLA. Right now, a lot of the schools have come in for home visits and I'm just taking in as much information as I can.
"Last week, I had home visits with Nebraska (Monday), Nevada (Wednesday) and Mississippi (Thursday) and Colorado came by today. I also stay in touch with Coach Osborne at ASU and I'm still interested in them for sure. I want to see who they hire before I decide anything.
"Right now, I'm not in any rush to make a decision. It would be nice to have it out of the way by Christmas but I still need to decide if I'm taking a 5th trip and if not, then I'll have to sit down with my family and coaches and try and figure out where the best place for me is among the four schools I visited.
"I'm looking for a school where I'll be comfortable and that feels like home. Academics are also important along with how I get along with the players and coaches on the team. So far, I've liked all my visits and I really can't say one school stands out over the others. All of them have a lot of pluses and I just need to sit back and decide where the best place for me will be."
