McCaffrey wowed by Alabama

Christian McCaffrey loved his weekend visit to Alabama. There's really no other way to put it.
The 2014 running back from Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian did not receive an offer but he still had an outstanding trip and plans to keep the Crimson Tide high on his list.

"It was an awesome, awesome trip," McCaffrey said. "I loved it.
"I got to go in the locker room and the stadium. I met all the coaches and talked to coach (Nick) Saban. We had lunch in the stadium in this really cool dining area and then we talked to some of the players and met our position coaches. It was just an awesome time.
"Everybody was so nice and so positive. We saw their weight room and all their wonderful facilities and I just loved it. It was really cool to see a national championship football program at their finest."
McCaffrey, who rushed for 1,390 yards and 23 touchdowns on 156 carries this past season, said meeting Saban was one of the neatest aspects of the trip.
The 2014 running back was encouraged by what Saban said about his recruitment and another trip to Tuscaloosa could be in the works.
"It was awesome stepping in to coach Saban's office and getting to talk to him," McCaffrey said. "It was definitely really cool especially with all the success he's had lately. Down here in the south it's a little different than Colorado - he's like God to everyone so it was kind of cool shaking hands with him and getting to sit down and talk to him.
"No offer but they'd like to see me come around some more. They're going to wait to see some more film and see what happens there. They definitely wanted to see me come back maybe for a camp or one of the games next year. They definitely said they're extremely interested."
Recruiting has been busy for McCaffrey, who already has offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Duke, Iowa, Nebraska, NC State, Oregon State, Stanford, Utah, Vanderbilt and Washington.
He said Tennessee has been showing more interest as well.
