McBurse breaks county rush record

Al-Terek McBurse is now a record holder. This running back prospect from Winter Springs (Fla.) High School rushed for 2,238 yards and 23 scores in ten games this season. He averaged a whopping 12 yards a carry and is now the single season record holder for Seminole County, breaking Marquette Smith's numbers.
"I have not really noticed it or thought about the record," McBurse said. "My coaches were more excited than me. I guess it hasn't really sunk in for me yet."

Ironically, McBurse and his teammates played Smith's old team, Lake Howell, this Friday night. He rushed for 241 yards and three scores, including a 95 yard kickoff return.
McBurse has visited one school officially so far this season and that trip was to Lincoln, Nebraska. He was very impressed with the big red machine.
"Right now they are definitely the team to beat. I loved everything. I fit in with their scheme and offense. Nebraska is a team that gets the running backs involved in so many ways. I love coach Pelini. He's cool and really down to earth."
McBurse is scheduled to visit Purdue this weekend and then Kansas the first week of December.
"I am thinking about a bunch of schools for those final visits. I will try and see South Florida but I don't know if it will be an official or unofficial visit. I think there's a good chance I will also visit Georgia Tech.
"Now that the season is over I want to get the decision out of the way and get on top of things now. It's time to narrow things down."
